Hello and a very Happy New Year to you all! 2017 is finnally here and I must say, it has been a long expected one for me. Looking back at 2016, it started off horribly, it threw things at me I was not prepared for but it immediately went uphill. It was a long one and a strange one but to sum up all the good things, it was one hell of a year and I mean it in the best possible way!
We are entering 2017, what makes me feel both excited and terrified. For the first time in my life, I am starting off a new year knowing what is to be expected. I have a long and a hard year ahead of me. For almost my entire life I have been dreaming of coming to London in order to study. I moved here 2,5 year ago and I can geniuenly say, it has been the best 2,5 year of my life! In nearly 5 months I will be a graduate trying to sort my grown up life out. I have a long year ahead of me. There is gonna be a lot of huge changes, a lot of tough decisions to be made and most importanly, some very sad farewells. I know one thing for sure, 2017 is gonna be an extraoridinary year that I will never forget!
I was never much of a believer in New Year's resolutions but I welcomed this year with an unusual excitement and I prepared myself for a fresh start. So far, 2017 is not letting me down or rather to say I am not letting myself down with the goals I set myself. Aside from my personal resolutions, I have come up with some plans towards my work as a Photographer and Cinematographer. I want to focus more on my personal growth, through new ideas and more creativity and that includes improving my website too!
I realized I have been keeping myself so busy with my university work for the past 2,5 year that the fun side of my passion slipped away from me a little. I mean, I have enjoyed every little moment of my experience at university but I nearly neglected photography since I started the course and switched entirely to filmmaking. The good news is, Santa has kindly surprised me with a long awaited Leica this Christmas and I am sure that will motivate me to take more photos. I really mean it this time cause there is already lots of photos coming!
Another thing, a couple of days ago I came across an interesting project: The Sixty Second Photograph. An association of still photographers who chellenged themselves in making short moving pictures every month. I got inspired by those videos and thought that would be a nice idea for me, to make more videos outside of university and to improve my cinematography skills. I am still debationg whether it should be a monthly thing and generally how to approach it but I am currently working on my first video and I will post it here very soon!
