Only 6 weeks left before we move on to the production of Stevie! There is still a lot of hard work to be done but we are nearly ready. We went up to Liverpool this weekend for our final technical recce and I am well excited about how successfully it went. Everything went according to the schedule and most importantly, none of the locations turned out to be a disappointment.
When we first got to Liverpool, on Sunday afternoon, Yasmin (prod.) and McKenna (dir.) had their first meeting with Andy - back then a potential candidate for the role, now officially the character of Stevie's father. Later, whilst McKenna was having rehearsals with Ava, the main actress for the role of Stevie, Yasmin took me and Martha (sound) to see some of the filming locations. We visited the beautiful Liverpool Cathedral in which we will be capturing a couple of shots for the film, as well as the swimming pool. Having seen the locations, we all went to meet the adorable Ava who was very excited to get to know me and Martha, and most importantly she seems to be very confident in the role of Stevie. The next morning we started off really early by visiting the Crosby Marina, which is one of the most important locations for the film. Regardless of the awful weather, we planned all the shots that we need to storyboard now. I am now even more excited for the production of Stevie but there is still some work to be done. We will be doing test shoots, storyboards and our crowdfunding campaign in the following weeks.
